| Amazing Facilities The magnificent 20x10m pool and surroundings, laundry, fully equipped gym/fitness room in the Pavilion, various sports, (see below), billiard and table tennis rooms, babyfoot and other games, bicycles and a well stocked library with books and videos.
Sports Nouailles has two all-weather surface tennis courts in the meadow next to the mill. One surface is cushioned and marked out for five-a-side football, basketball and tennis. There is a play park with outdoor swings, etc. There is also a trampoline, as well as a cricket net and bowling machine. Badminton can be played on the grass under the poplar trees by the River Assou. The Grounds
The buildings are set in their own 95 acres of mixed meadow and woodland. It is bordered by the River Assou, a tributary to the Aveyron (from which the region gets its name). This is good for fishing and a license can be obtained. You can fish in the mill stream or the lake in the grounds without a license. Guardians Nouailles is looked after by an English couple, who live locally. They know the area well and are very helpful. They visit the property regularly to look after the gardens and pool. It may be possible to make private arrangements directly with them for help such as transport to or from the airport, etc. Staff can be provided if required or special French cuisine catering arranged. Travel By Air. Air France and British Airways fly to Toulouse and Ryanair to Rodez. From Toulouse it is 1½ hours' drive to the house. From Rodez, 1 hour. By Car From Calais it is about an eight hour drive, (nearest exit on A20 is Cahors Sud). |

Local Attractions Many guests visit Najac, a very pretty bastide town 8 miles to the south, officially one of the most beautiful in France , has a good street market on Sunday mornings. There are shops, a creperie, pizzeria and two good restaurants. There is canoeing on the Aveyron at Najac. Monteils Only 1½ miles south of Nouailles, is an easy walk away. There is a local bakery, a grocery shop and two good restaurants. There is also a post office and a riding school nearby. Villefranche de Rouergue 8 miles north, is a beautifully preserved bastide town on the banks of the Aveyron, with many interesting sights. The market place is surrounded by arcades of shops, restaurants and bars. Market day is on Thursday morning, and is worth a visit. On the outskirts there are several good supermarkets. There is a casualty department in the hospital, a private health clinic and a local tourist office. ![]() St Antonin Noble Val a medieval town on the Aveyron river 35 minutes' drive away, is also worth a visit, with a large Sunday morning market. |
